Chapter 166: Is it over? Pills!

Chapter 166: Is it over? Pills!

Daohua climbed the tree, gripping the branches tightly. With a bit of leverage, she nimbly jumped onto the top of the courtyard wall. She crouched down, balancing herself steadily on the wall.

Her yoga skills from her past life and the martial arts she learned from Wang Man'er in this life weren't for nothing.

Just as Daohua was feeling pleased with herself, a low, hoarse growl reached her ears. She looked down and saw two large black dogs, snarling with bared teeth and saliva dripping, staring up at her.

Oh my god!

Daohua jolted in surprise, nearly falling off the wall. Luckily, her balance was good, and as her body tilted backward, her hands grabbed onto the top of the courtyard wall in time.

"What are you doing?"

Xiao Yeyang quickly climbed up the tree and nimbly jumped to the top of the wall. As soon as he steadied himself, he saw Daohua tossing something into the yard.

"Shh, there are vicious dogs blocking the way. I’m currently trying to outsmart them!" Daohua whispered.

"Pfft~"

Defu, following closely behind, couldn't hold back his laughter and burst out laughing.

Sometimes, he found that no matter how dangerous the situation, Miss Yan always managed to make people laugh out loud.

In the shadows, the black-clad guards also stumbled, nearly revealing their position.

Where did the young master find this gem?

Outsmarting dogs? Is she serious?

Only Wang Man'er remained unfazed, saying casually, "Two bad dogs? Let me take care of them." She then jumped down into the yard.

And so, she came face-to-face with the two dogs.

Just as Wang Man'er was about to pick up a rock to throw at the dogs' heads, the two dogs staggered, as if drunk, swaying left and right before collapsing to the ground.

Wang Man'er stood there, stunned. When Daohua and the others came down, she blankly said, "These dogs are useless. I hadn’t even made a move yet."

Daohua patted her on the shoulder. "Don’t blame them. Who told you to emit such a strong ‘turtle-like aura’? You literally stunned them into unconsciousness."

"Pfft~"

"Cough cough~"

Laughter and coughing sounds mixed together.

Daohua looked speechlessly at Xiao Yeyang, who was giving her a strange look, and Defu, whose shoulders were shaking in suppressed laughter.

Was it really necessary to react like this?

"Let’s go!"

Daohua shook her head and walked ahead, silently thinking that ancient people couldn’t handle jokes—they had such low tolerance for humor.

Xiao Yeyang, Defu, and Wang Man'er exchanged glances.

Xiao Yeyang glanced at the two unconscious dogs, then quickly followed Daohua.

Wang Man'er scratched her head and looked at Defu. "Is this 'turtle-like aura' really that powerful? How come I didn’t know I had it?"

Defu's mouth twitched, and he shrugged. "If you don’t know, then how would I know?" He quickly ran off.

Wang Man'er pouted. "I’ll ask the young lady later!"

After the four left, the black-clad guard emerged from the corner, crawling up from the grass.

Yes, crawling up.

He too had been stunned by Daohua's "turtle-like aura" and had accidentally fallen from the courtyard wall. If the distance had been any shorter, he might have been discovered.

The black-clad guard looked around, patted his chest in relief.

Thankfully, no one saw him. Otherwise, his face would be unrecognizable.

He quickly walked over to the two black dogs, checked their breathing, and flipped their bodies over. He then exclaimed, "What a strong sleeping potion!"

The dogs, trained to guard the yard, had been knocked out in moments. The strength of the drug was far stronger than any he had used before.

Meanwhile, Daohua and Xiao Yeyang's group were hiding in a corner, cautiously observing the people coming in and out of the yard.

"What did you do to those two dogs?" Xiao Yeyang couldn’t help but ask.

Daohua turned back and smiled. "Guess."

Xiao Yeyang was speechless. "I can’t guess."

Daohua smiled and took out a small packet of powder from her pouch. "I used this to deal with them."

Seeing the packet in Daohua's hand, Xiao Yeyang was stunned, and even Defu widened his eyes.

"Sleep powder?"

Xiao Yeyang looked at Daohua, unable to express his frustration. Seeing the proud smile on her face, he was at a loss for words.

"You’re a girl, and you’re carrying sleeping powder with you—what exactly are you planning to do?" Xiao Yeyang asked in a complicated tone, lowering his voice.

Daohua gave Xiao Yeyang a “you’re so dumb” look. "What else? Of course, it’s for self-defense! Think about it, even a Young Prince like you could be kidnapped by human traffickers. That shows how dangerous this world is."

"Today is the Lantern Festival, the streets are full of people—perfect timing for child trafficking. I’m not familiar with the provincial capital, so it’s only right to be prepared, just in case."

"Good thing I brought the sleeping powder, or with those two black dogs around, we wouldn’t even be able to enter the yard!"

Seeing Daohua speaking so confidently, Xiao Yeyang felt the need to slow down. After a long while, he seriously looked Daohua up and down before asking, “Are you really a girl?”

He couldn’t help but think that her way of doing things was even more wild than his own!

Daohua was tempted to puff out her chest, imitating the exaggerated pose from TV dramas, but unfortunately, she was still too young and hadn’t developed yet. Otherwise, she would have made Xiao Yeyang question everything.

She cupped her face, blinking her eyes. “Have you ever seen a boy who’s as flower-like, with bright eyes and white teeth, graceful, obedient, and as beautiful as a fairy’s maiden?”

Hearing this, Xiao Yeyang couldn’t stop himself from shuddering. His fingers trembling, he looked at Daohua with disbelief, “Wha—what’s with your thick skin?!”

Daohua hummed. “That’s called having thick skin, not knowing much, huh?” she said, giving Xiao Yeyang a playful slap on the back of his head.

Xiao Yeyang took a few deep breaths, and after his lips moved several times, he finally shut up helplessly.

He lamented his misfortune—he couldn’t out-talk a girl who was four years younger than him.

"Shh!"

Suddenly, Daohua made a silencing gesture and pointed toward the second floor of the courtyard. "The person you’re looking for."

Xiao Yeyang finally returned to a serious demeanor, his cold gaze fixed on the room on the second floor that had just closed its door.

"What are you planning to do?"

Xiao Yeyang withdrew his gaze and glanced at Daohua, who was shrinking her neck. He smiled. “Now you’re scared?”

Daohua smiled back. She wasn’t scared, of course.

Her third and fourth brothers had already told her that Defu was skilled in martial arts, which meant that even if a conflict arose, it was unlikely they would be in danger.

Moreover, from how the young noblemen were driven away from the Chong Lou earlier, it was clear they knew Xiao Yeyang’s identity and didn’t dare confront him openly.

With these two points, what was there to fear?

Daohua straightened her back. "I’m not scared. It’s just that one must approach things strategically. For example, those people are indeed annoying, but we can’t let their actions force us to dirty our own hands."

Xiao Yeyang looked at Daohua without speaking.

Daohua raised an eyebrow. "Do you understand what I mean?"

Xiao Yeyang suddenly smiled. "Do you think I’m going to kill someone?"

Daohua’s face froze for a moment. She looked at Xiao Yeyang carefully before replying, “I don’t think you’re that dumb.”

Xiao Yeyang snorted but didn’t say anything further.

Daohua quickly took off the pouch hanging at her waist. "I have something good here."

Xiao Yeyang blinked in surprise. After a moment, he asked, "What else do you have?"

Daohua took out a pill the size of a finger and a bamboo tube about the thickness of her thumb. She raised an eyebrow at Xiao Yeyang. "Do you know what this is?"

Xiao Yeyang looked confused. "What is it?"

Daohua eagerly shoved the pill and the bamboo tube into Xiao Yeyang’s hands and said excitedly, "This thing I call ‘Game Over!’ If you throw this pill into someone’s room, the powder inside will spread immediately, and anyone who gets touched by it will itch all over terribly."

"So, don’t you think this is a better way to vent your anger than barging in and beating them up?"
