Chapter 167: Secret

 Chapter 167: Secret

Xiao Yeyang stared blankly at the pill and bamboo tube in his hand, then lifted his gaze to meet Daohua’s sharp, determined eyes. After a long silence, he asked, "How long does the effect last?"

Daohua answered, "That depends on whether they can find a good physician. Let me put it this way: without the antidote, they’ll keep itching horribly. But if they have a skilled physician who can concoct the antidote, a bath might ease the itching."

Worried that Xiao Yeyang might disapprove of her pill and go straight to confronting the young masters, Daohua hurriedly added, "I think this pill is pretty effective. A regular physician won't be able to make the antidote so quickly."

"At the very least, those guys will itch for three to five days. If you want, use this to teach them a lesson and get some relief."

Xiao Yeyang glanced at the pouch in Daohua's hand, then snatched it from her and opened it.

Good grief, there were three packets of sleeping powder and at least seven or eight pills that caused itching!

This person was practically preparing to torment someone to death!

Xiao Yeyang looked at Daohua helplessly. "You’re more prepared than I am."

Daohua shrugged. "I call it being cautious, better safe than sorry! What do you think? This way, there’s no risk of broken bones or bloodshed, and it won’t escalate into something unmanageable."

Xiao Yeyang glanced at Daohua, then handed the bamboo tube and pills to Defu, while putting the pouch in his own pocket. "Go, try it out."

At his words, Defu’s eyes lit up, and he quickly took the items, relieved.

He hated Ma Feiyu, who had caused his brother’s death, but he didn’t want things to get out of hand and attract attention from the capital.

Miss Yan’s pill was perfect—it would teach Ma Feiyu and his group a lesson and vent the master’s frustration, without escalating things too much.

Daohua instructed Defu, "When you go, just make a small hole in the window, put the pill in the bamboo tube, and blow the pill out."

"Remember, don’t break the pill midway, or you’ll end up itching yourself!"

Defu nodded. "Don’t worry, I’ll make sure it’s done right," he said, then swiftly sneaked up to the second floor.

Watching Defu leap up to the second floor, skillfully avoiding anyone in his way, Daohua and Wang Man’er couldn’t help but feel envious.

"I wish I had skills like that!"

Daohua sighed enviously.

Xiao Yeyang glanced at her. "Defu learned martial arts to protect me. Why would you need to learn it?"

Daohua grinned. "I’ll learn to protect myself. In this world, relying on others is never as reliable as relying on yourself."

Xiao Yeyang replied dryly, "With skills like yours, who would dare to mess with you?" If it weren’t for this outing, he would never have realized that Daohua knew martial arts techniques.

"By the way, where did you get the sleeping powder and pills?"

Daohua tilted her head proudly. "I made them myself. Didn’t I tell you? I’m a medical genius." She raised an eyebrow at Xiao Yeyang and patted him on the shoulder. "Remember to treat me well, so I can protect you in the future."

Xiao Yeyang looked at the delicate little hand that had just moved off his shoulder, his lips curling in a forced smile. "Then, I thank you."

Daohua chuckled. "We’re partners, no need for thanks."

Her boldness left Xiao Yeyang speechless.

At that moment, Defu had completed his task.

However, he hadn’t expected the pill to be so effective.

As he blew the pill toward the table in the room, it exploded on impact.

Immediately, Ma Feiyu and the others began scratching and itching uncontrollably.

At first, Defu found this hilarious, but when he saw what the young masters were doing in the room, his expression changed dramatically. He quickly turned and rushed toward Xiao Yeyang and the others.

However, he was a step too late. As soon as he reached the stairs, the door to the room opened.

A few handsome young men, half-naked and only wearing undergarments, ran out of the room, scratching their bodies as they did so, acting lasciviously and without restraint.

Xiao Yeyang, Daohua, and Wang Man’er, who were waiting for the results in the corner, all widened their eyes in shock.

"Uh..."

This scene is a bit inappropriate for children!

Daohua stared without blinking. Suddenly, a pair of hands covered her eyes, followed by Xiao Yeyang's voice saying, "Don't look! Let's go back!"

"How can I see the road if you're covering my eyes?" Daohua protested.

Xiao Yeyang ignored her complaints. With one hand covering her eyes and the other grabbing her wrist, he quickly pulled her toward the courtyard wall.

Damn Ma Feiyu, how dare he engage in such obscene behavior here!

Several disheveled young men rushed out of the room, immediately attracting the attention of others in the courtyard. Laughter and ambiguous comments began to echo all around.

Defu quickly returned, grabbing Wang Man'er and walking off without a word.

Damn it, they actually entered a South Wind Pavilion, and they even brought Miss Yan with them!

"Find out who is plotting against me!" he shouted angrily.

A roar came from the second floor, followed by a group of servants searching the courtyard.

Xiao Yeyang, pulling Daohua, quickly reached the place where they had climbed the wall earlier. With one swift motion, he climbed to the top of the wall and then reached out his hand to Daohua. "Come on, I'll pull you up."

Daohua knew this wasn't the time to dawdle. She extended her hand to Xiao Yeyang, and in one smooth motion, she was pulled up.

Wang Man'er was also pulled up by Defu in the same way.

The four of them quickly left, moving with agility.

Once they had gone, the man in black appeared again. This time, he carried a bucket of ice water. He poured the water over the heads of two black dogs. Soon after, the dogs slowly opened their eyes.

Having dealt with the dogs, the man in black erased Xiao Yeyang and the others' tracks before casting one last indifferent glance at the still-chaotic South Wind Pavilion. He let out a cold laugh and quickly left.

"What exactly was that courtyard just now..."

Daohua was about to speak when Xiao Yeyang interrupted, "Don't ask, and don't bring it up again. You'd better forget everything that happened tonight."

Daohua pouted. "I knew even without you saying anything." Then, lowering her voice, she asked curiously, "Is that South Wind Pavilion, like the one in the storybooks?"

Xiao Yeyang's eyes widened in disbelief as he looked at Daohua. After a long pause, he said, "Your brother was right. You'd better stop reading those storybooks."

This girl even knows about South Wind Pavilion!

Daohua understood that people in ancient times were more conservative, so she didn't push him further. "Fine, I promise I won’t say anything. Let’s just keep today’s events as our secret."

Hearing this, Xiao Yeyang sighed with relief and wiped the sweat from his forehead with a handkerchief.

From now on, he would never take Daohua on such wild adventures again!
